The Art of Video Games

I believe that video games are an art form. While it might seem bizarre to some, it is like a painting. It displays an image and brings the human imagination to vision. Like literature it dazzles its players with thought provoking stories that may even have religious and political undertones.
Super Mario Bros, a video game franchise that has been around since 1985, has been entertaining kids and adults alike. It can bring the child's imagination to the screen for them to have an adventure, just like how paintings tell of an adventure in one single image. The Legend of Zelda series creator Shigeru Miyamoto says that the landscape, mythology, and style were based on his own mini adventures he would have in his home town of Kyoto, Japan. He took his own personal brush and painted a world of his own; a world where you can defeat great monsters with swords and save the world from a tyrannical beast. Now how is this not a form of art?
